Dolls House Bedding Sizes: Double, Single, Junior, Cot & Crib

Buying bedding for a miniature bed can be confusing because 1:12 scale describes the overall scale, not one universal bed size. A double bed, single bed, junior bed, cot and crib can all be 1:12 scale while needing very different bedding.

Start with the bed, not just the scale

First confirm that the dolls house and bed are 1:12 scale. Then measure the bed itself. The most useful figures are usually the sleeping-area width and length, together with any unusually high footboard, side rails or mattress depth that could affect how the bedding sits.

Double bedding

Double Bedding is designed for miniature double beds and is the main bedding category for adult-style main bedrooms. Double sets are wider than single and junior bedding and are intended to sit naturally across a 1:12 double bed.

Always compare the listed bedding dimensions with your particular bed because double-bed designs vary between makers.

Single bedding

Single Bedding is intended for narrower 1:12 single beds. These sets work particularly well in children's rooms, guest rooms and compact bedrooms where a full double bed would be too large.

Do not assume that every narrow bed uses the same dimensions: check the bed width and the individual bedding listing.

Junior bedding

Junior Bedding is intended for smaller junior-style beds used in children's bedrooms and nursery settings. It is a separate fit group from standard single bedding in the Pretty Miniatures range.

If your bed could reasonably be described as either single or junior, use the physical dimensions rather than the name alone to decide which bedding is most suitable.

What about throws?

Why the category name is not enough on its own

Miniature furniture is made by many different manufacturers and makers, and there is no single physical dimension that every 1:12 double, single or junior bed must use. The category gives you the correct starting point; the measurements confirm the fit.
